A Universe so Wide
A sun so bright
A world so big
A universe so wide
With so much light, space, and wonder
most of us are so unhappy and ungrateful
Even in the dark our sky is full of light
and When the clouds cover up the stars
the moon is always shinning through.
With more daylight than darkness
we continue to complain
Seeking what we'll never find
In something far to wide
and never appreciating what we can see,
what we can hold, and what we've been granted
When will we see that the universe wasn't meant
to be explored, but to be accepted the way it's presented?
When will we stop planning for our problems
to get worse and start fixing them?
and when will we stop pointing out the rips
and tares in what could be better
but start repairing and making what doesn't
fit work in our society?
We've been given so much that it's not enough
anymore, we must have more and ignore
what is left.
They tell us our world is falling apart,
safe to say everyone knows that now,
but whose doing anything about it?
and the people who have virtually nothing
are the ones who pointed out how
the sun is so bright
the world is so big
and how the universe is so wide
Accept what we have and make it something
Worry about making our problems work,
rather than planning for them when
they get worse.
And be happy, know we have everything
we need, there is no point in looking for
something new when what was there before
Was just fine.
our universe is far too wide to be wondering
what could possibly be out there.
I say Enjoy what was given to us and keep
wondering and observing, not spending billions
on sending metal into space. Spend billions
on the starving country across the ocean.
